Rose Cottage is located on the outskirts of the pretty village of Barlow in Derbyshire, a friendly village in beautiful walking country and much loved by anglers because of the Barlow Trout Fishery.
The village is also renowned for its Well Dressing ceremony which takes place in August. The parade starts just a short stroll away from the cottage at the Old Pump, an 18th century coaching house that is now a restaurant and pub, serving home cooked food and fine ales.
Chesterfield, with its famous crooked spire, is only five minutes’ drive from the cottage and Linacre Valley, with all its wildlife, woods and reservoirs is just as close.
