From Rose Cottage all the attractions of the Peak District are within easy reach.

Visit Chatsworth House, with its famous Emperor Fountain, and Haddon Hall. From Matlock Bath you can ride the cable cars across the Gorge. Visit the Heights of Abraham, Arkwright Mills with its industrial heritage;, the National Tramway Museum at Crich; the Peak Rails steam trains; the Plague Village at Eyam; the Chestnut Owl and Otter Sanctuary at Chapel; Gulliver’s Kingdom; Alton Towers; the Derwent Valley Dams (Dambusters)... the list is endless.

Go walking or cycling in some of the best scenery the country has to offer. The Peak District is famous for its many and varied walks in all sorts of terrain to suit all ages and abilities. The National Park Authority Rangers lead more than 250 free guided walks each year, each with their own individual theme.

For the more energetic, there’s the Watersports Centre at Carsington Water, where you can hire canoes, dinghies and surfboards, or choose from rock climbing, caving, ballooning or gliding.
